一期一会

The Australian guests who stayed consecutive nights at Konichi-an, before their Kumano Kodo walking trip. 

On the 2nd day, we planned to have a trial experience for Japanese tea ceremony in Annex building, and the guests were very happy to join us.

It was their first trip to Japan, and they were very interested in Japanese culture, during ceremony, we enjoyed conversation about Japanese tradition.

They tried to whisk the tea and served it to us, it tasted really good!

We were so happy that they enjoyed their first Japanese tea ceremony experience at Konichi-an, their very first accommodation in Japan!

In the world of the tea ceremony, there is a saying, “Ichi-go ichi-e（一期一会）”, meaning “Treasure every encounter, for it will never recur.”

Hopefully their Kumano Kodo trip will be full of wonderful encounters. Have a nice trip! 😉

熊野古道ウォークの前に連泊していただいた、オーストラリアのゲストさん。

白浜での予定は特に決めていないと伺ったので、ちょうど好日庵の別館レンタルスペースで予定していた茶道体験のトライアルにお誘いしたら、喜んで参加してくださいました。

おふたりとも、日本は初めてで見るもの全てに興味津々。

茶道のことはもちろん、着物のことや和室のしつらえのこと、はたまた日本の宗教についてなど、知りたいことがたくさん！お話が盛り上がり、とても楽しい時間になりました。

お茶点てにもトライされ、ご相伴にあずかりました。結構なお点前でございました！(*^^*)

初めての訪日旅行、しかも旅の最初の宿泊先である好日庵で、たまたま茶道を初体験してくださったなんて、なんだか嬉しいですね♪

まさに、茶道の心得の「一期一会」のような…熊野古道の旅も、素敵な出会いにあふれる旅になりますように(*^^*)
